Promotions at Anthony Harper

Anthony Harper is very pleased to announce a number of new promotions.

"We are proud to recognise six members of our team who have been promoted in recognition of their excellence in their respective legal fields. In particular, Lynne Van, who has been promoted to the partnership," says Malcolm Hurley, Managing Partner at Anthony Harper.

"Lynne joined Anthony Harper in 2015 and the last six years have been marked by rapid promotion. Her speciality practice area is insolvency litigation and it is a testament to her expertise that she has been involved in a number of cases that have clarified New Zealand law. She is also ranked prominently as a 'Rising Star' in international directories," Hurley adds.

"I am privileged to work alongside a number of market leaders, both clients and within the Anthony Harper team. The national litigation team has gone from strength to strength and is amongst the best in the country. I am delighted to join the partnership. I look forward to continued collaboration with the firm's clients to assist them with contentious disputes, particularly in the insolvency and restructuring sphere," said Lynne Van.

Other promotions include:

Susan Lyall – Special Counsel (Trusts and Asset Planning)

Susan has many years' experience in both trusts and asset planning and is also an experienced family lawyer with particular interest in relationship property. She advises clients on the establishment and restructuring of trusts, together with all aspects of asset planning including wills, enduring powers of attorney and the administration of estates. Susan also advises clients who wish to protect assets prior to and during a relationship and on the division of assets on separation, including personally owned assets and trust property.

Jordan Wright – Senior Associate (Corporate Advisory) 

Jordan acts for clients on a range of corporate transactions, including acquisitions, sale and merger transactions and corporate structuring. She has a growing specialisation in the supply chain, transport and logistics sector. As well as acting for clients on transactional work, Jordan provides advice on a range of commercial matters including procurement, supply, distribution and transport arrangements, shareholders' agreements and service agreements.

Alice von Batenburg – Senior Associate (Banking and Finance)

Alice von Batenburg has over seven years' experience in banking and finance law acting for both lenders and borrowers. It is a testament to her expertise that she continues to be ranked as a 'Rising Star" in the international directories.

Emma Cowle – Senior Associate (Litigation)

Emma is a construction law expert. She acts across a broad range of construction disputes, including delay claims, variation disputes, and defective building work. Her expertise includes advising on the nuances of construction contracts and seeking resolution through adjudication, arbitration, and court proceedings. Her clients admire her ability to understand complex issues and convert them effectively into winning legal arguments.

Oliver Towle – Associate (Litigation)

Oliver has only been practising law for just over three years. His rapid promotion is in recognition of his expertise and skill as a litigator with a particular interest in public law and judicial review.
