Bio

Lucy Scott is commercial litigator and regulatory lawyer with a particular interest in contractual, shareholder, and property disputes. Her extensive knowledge in regulatory investigations and prosecutions positions her as a key advisor to her clients. She is an experienced adviser on regulatory issues across a wide range of sectors, including financial services, health and safety and consumer and competition.

Lucy’s in-house experience has honed her ability to offer balanced, pragmatic advice, making her a trusted figure in managing complex commercial and regulatory challenges.

Lucy regularly represents clients in investigations involving the Commerce Commission, WorkSafe New Zealand, the Financial Markets Authority and other regulators. She also represents clients in the High Court, and at mediation and arbitration.

Lucy has gained strong experience since she graduated in 2010, starting her career at a large Auckland law firm before taking on an in-house role at the Royal Bank of Scotland in London. There, she was the head of the legal division advising on a large regulatory investigation and customer remediation scheme. She has been with Anthony Harper since 2017.

The trust's debtor owned a share of the property, but the trust claimed that it was the beneficial owner of the other registered proprietors' shares. The court ordered a sale of the property with proceeds to be distributed to the trust.
  • Acted for a tourism industry client on a successful High Court application for judicial review against Tourism New Zealand regarding a licence dispute.
